Version 1.1 of Prayer Circle is very close to release. The interface redesign was suggested by the developers. We liked it and it does look much more modern. As is often the case, we've needed more time in debugging and testing than the developers expected. Be patient--it will be done soon. I'm also excited that we've got a couple of new apps in the design and pre-development stage! We're also going to release a version of Prayer Circle in at least one other language, and of course finish and launch the Android version!

We used Elance to find a development company to contract out the bulk of the dev work. On examination, this went far better than I would have expected. Things weren't lost in translation due to any language barrier. Time zone differences didn't cause an adverse impact. With this particular contractor (Algonyx), all the problems I have had in the past with this type of contracted arrangement just weren't there.
Well, that was plesantly surprising. As many development projects as I've been on with offshore teams, I had developed quite a bias. This experience pretty clearly demonstrates that it's about picking the right team.
